How long after having my baby can I exercise?
Question by Rach: How lengthy immediately after having my child can I workout?
If I have a typical birth how long after can I commence going on hour walks? Use my cross trainer, go jogging and do sit ups? Im desperate to shift the additional child pounds before i’m a bridesmaid, ive got 10 weeks to drop it.

Sorry, not going to make that deadline. 6 weeks until you can commence carrying out items like walking lengthy distances and exercising. My finest assistance… breast feed. It burns far more calories than operating. Also… I constantly say 9 months up and 9 months down. Don’t push your physique to extremes right after baby. Your still going to be slightly inflamed for a whilst.

It depends entirely on how you feel and recover. One suggestion is taking Arnica after birth to heal you more quickly. You just take the recommended doseage and I think it’s fine with breastfeeding but best check with a midwife. As for the breastfeeding, for me it really did work but due to thrush I gave up after 2 weeks. This is when I literally piled on the pounds by the day! Try to eat healthily when feeding too as it makes you sooooo hungry. Best of luck & I hope the sweep worked for you

It all depends on your body. Have a word with the doctor about how soon to get back into your normal exercise routine, it is usually recommended to wait until you have had your postnatal check up. But your doctor is the best one to ask for advice. But this page may be of some help to you.

It’s recommended you wait at least 6 weeks before doing any strenuous excersize although walking would be a good start and I don’t see why you couldn’t start doing that straight away

just remember your body and health comes before a dress. im sure they can make it fit you. if you do too much too soon your going to damage yourself internally. go onto some websites online and see exercises that you can do after youve had a baby and it might tone your stomach up but in a way your not over doing it . x
