How long does a baby face downwards before its ready to be delivered?
Question by ♥ღ♥ Max & Alfie’s Mummy ♥ღ♥: How long does a baby face downwards ahead of its prepared to be delivered?
I had a GP appointment this morning & she stated that my baby is head down. I’m only 26 weeks but all the medical doctors have been saying that he’s a massive baby & must deliver early.
Final night & all these days, i’ve been having pains in my stomach which ive assumed are Braxton Hicks.
I was wondering how lengthy the baby lies head down ahead of basically coming out?

I think they can stay like that for a good while, you dont want the baby to come now as this is way too early for him,but another 10 weeks would be better!!
Im 24 weeks and my baby is always head down i suppose its whatever way they are more comfy xx

If the baby is big – you are lucky that he found his way to turn head down, as the room inside is getting smaller every day and some kids are not able to turn later on. The time he turned is very normal and it doesn’t mean a chance of early labour. Braxton Hicks are also common this time. Try to get some strength as you will be filing uncomfy for the remaining time and wait.
the longest he stays inside the better.
When i was 7 mnths, i almost started labour because of a family tragedy, been kept in the hospital and then getting medications to keep my daughter as long as possible and finished being indused 4 days post due.
Wish you the best!!!

My baby has been in ceph 1 (head down – birthing position) at almost every midwife and scan appointment I have had – it just loves laying that way. I am 31 weeks and honestly don’t think its planning to arrive early or on its due date!
