They usually say one extra layer more than what you would wear. For example if its hot enough to just wear a t-shirt, then put her in one with a onesie underneath.

  2. BB Says:

They say you should put on what you would wear, plus one layer. So, if you would wear a vest and put on a blanket, put a vest, blanket and a sleep suit.
    Hope this helps.

My son was born in Aug 2003 when we had the heatwave. He lived in a vest for the summer, & i used cellular blankets i his moses basket. If he does get too cold he’ll soon let you know about it, but rather that than too hot – babies overheat too easily.

Dress him with the same type of clothes you would wear.

It’s summer. go with the vest.Go with what you feel. If you’re hot baby is too. Too many peoople overdress their babies.

It hot weather there is no need for that ‘extra layer.’ Just a diaper, or a diaper + teeshirt or onesie should be fine. If he’s too cold, he’ll let you know.

No blankets for infants in any weather.

i agree with Pippin, in this weather just a nappie or a nappie and t-shirt would be fine. In the evening when it starts to get a little cooler you could put just a full vest or just a babygro. I would leave baby with no bIankets or sheets if it is still warm when you put him down for the evening, but check on him when you and hubby go up to bed and then i would put a thin sheet over baby at night, but not blankets. Its better they be on the cooler side than the warmer side.

    Hope this helped :-)

We use a vest and a grow bag for our lil one and she’s just fine, we also have our window open a bit to ventilate the room because it does get stuffy at night. Average temp for a room with a baby in should be between 18c and 21c.
