How many weeks are you taking off work for Maternity leave to spend with your baby?
Question by goldenchx: How several weeks are you taking off perform for Maternity leave to spend with your baby?
I will be preparing to leave perform for Maternity mid week in December and my baby is due mid week in January but I will be preparing to go back mid-April, is that enough time to shell out with my child? I’am scared I will neglect him/ her or that the child won’t bond.

in my nation, girls get a two years, paid vacation.but I think the hall time in the planet wouldn`t be sufficient for a new-born,so remain at house as a lot as it requires.

I was off work 6 weeks with my first two, a year with my third and three months with my fourth…..I have found that I bonded with all four of them equally, so just take off what you feel isneeded or what you are comfortable with.

I dont think anyone can answer that for you as it is a very personal thing who knows how you will feel when the baby is born.
The best laid plans of man and mice often go astray.
I dont think for a second the baby will be neglected though, not if your worrying about such things at this stage of the game.
Best of luck!

Luckily I am a nanny to a family where the mom is a school teacher. I am due in June and will return to workend of August. It was planned for me to go there 5 hours a week during the summer and I still plan on doing that with the baby. I figure I can stand 5 hours a week.

Here in the UK we get 9 months paid maternity leave (not full pay but Maternity benefit or Allowance)so I shall be taking that much time off!!!

I’m not “taking off work.” I work at a gas station, so I’m going to turn in my 2-weeks notice when I hit about 34 or 36 weeks. as to your question of how much time to spend with your baby… only you can answer that. I’d say around mid-March, take some time to re-evaluate and see if you’re comfortable going back to work yet. Good luck!
