Primary, put away your little one nail clippers that come in your infant very first aid kit. They do not cut all of the way, and they will leave a little part of the white nail showing so the child can still scratch himself and or you.

Here are the clippers that I use for my baby’s nails
Now, buy or use some nose hair clippers with rounded edges. They should be sanitary. Rub them with alcohol and wash them with hot water and dry them off to sanitize if they were used prior to.

Use these small scissors to lower the baby’s nails. They’ll reduce the nails off all of the way to ensure the child won’t scratch himself. Be careful not to reduce his skin as you would normal nail clippers. You’ll be amazed at how easily you can reduce his nails now.

Cut the baby’s nails down in an environment where you will discover no distractions, or if your child likes little one shows, let him watch it while you minimize his nails. Remember to cut just enough to ensure that when you rub your finger over them, they feel smooth and not sharp.
