If your babies finishing all the milk in 1 feed then try them with more……
At that age my twins were getting about 7oz every 4hrs
You mix the food 1 scoop for every 1oz…….
Your sister sounds stark raving mad!

You give 1 scoop of powder to 2 ounces of water.
and you give as much as the baby wants and needs.
at 3 months old that was 4 ounces every 4 hours for my second child.
at 3 months that was 8 ounces every 2 hours for my first.

She’s mad quite frankly. The formula’s are worked out in an extremely scientific way – and what your baby needs, your baby needs – no child should be hungry.

She’s getting hungrier. Once they are taking an 8 oz bottle and are still hungry, you can follow that bottle with some rice cereal.

Babies do’t overeat like adult do, so you can’t overdo it. If she’s hungry feed her more. She will stop when she’s full.

Feed on demand.
A hungry baby will cry to be fed – thats your first check, mostly a happy baby will cry to be fed and be fine afterwards,
Your baby is an individual, not a statistic on a formula can.

if your babys still hungry you need to feed it, thats what makes em grow….that dont mean that when theyre 12 you buy em 8 cheeseburgers though keep that one in mind.
hope that helped

I think i can honestly say ive never read the tins lol. I knew how to make up formula bottles from when friends had kids and growing up and stuff with much younger siblings.
I have fed my three kids what i have felt they needed not what the small print says, i beleive its just a guide anyway! a 9oz bottle is the max i went up to with my children per feed but do beleive they were on 7oz within the first 4months (i always made an ounce more than they drank to make sure they were all fed up properly and not left hungry.

We fed the baby until he stopped wanting any.

Do what the tin says

I have got a 9 week old baby and the health visitor has always told me to go with what the tin says, you should never add more/less water or fumular to a bottle. My daughter currently has 5oz and she only weights 9lbs 9ozs.

I’ve never heard someone put the ratio differently than 1 scoop per 2 oz. As for the amount, I’m really not sure. I wonder if there’s something you can mix in to make it a little thicker so she’ll stay full. Maybe a tiny bit of baby cereal? Be sure to check with her doctor. They’ll know what’s best regarding her weight and the amount of nutrition she needs.

feed your baby according to her appetite – you know her better than anyone else.by 3 months my son was on cow and gate for hungrier babies and taking 8 ounces per feed.seriously, dont listen to this woman!if your baby is hungry she will wake up through the night wanting food, so change her formula to a hungry baby (stage 2) and give her as much as she wants!
