Less Comfy to Use Than Security 1st Nail Clippe
June 29th, 2010, Posted in baby nail clippers reviewsSecurity 1st makes various nail clippers for babies, including design 49523 (Security 1st Hospital’s Alternative Steady Grip Nail Clippers); product 49539 (Security 1st Complete Nail Care Set) which includes what seems to be clippers similar to product 49523 but with a holder at the back for emery boards; and product 10435 (this one). All three of these nail trimmers are inside the “Hospital’s Choice” series.
Overall, I prefer the /49539 product (see Customer Images) mainly because it’s more comfortable to hold for the following reasons. Very first, rather than a small white plastic bulb, the 495Ƿ/49539 has a larger white-and-orange or white-and-blue handle that enables you to hold the clippers like a “gun” with your index finger under the blades and your thumb on the lever. Second, the orange or blue part of the 49523/49539 handle is soft and less slippery than the white plastic of this product. Third, the lever has the exact same soft orange or blue non-skid rubbery material at the end, thus providing a cushion for your thumb.
In terms of cutting nails, the really very good performance of this model and the 49523/49539 are the same. (They both leave the nail edges a little sharp, so some filing is needed.) So I recommend buying the 49523/49539 instead.
