I send mine to Belaraus – the Chernoble thing in Russia. I got to know a lady who does a lot out there via my local freecycle group.

if there is a local children’s hospital nearby i am sure they would be grateful, if not take them to your local hospitals children’s ward.

I know that I take my kids clothes to daycares around the area for those whose parents forget the extra change of clothes or for play clothes..and I also tell them that if anyone wants the clothes for their kids..they can have them too. I also take some of their toys up there too that they don’t play with. You can take them also to churches around the area and they can donate them to charities or to families in the church that are less fortunate. Also try like the Jesus house for homeless..sometimes they have kids there.

ask around at your local churches. The priests/pastors etc..would be able to tell you if they know of people that could use them.
Or join your local ‘freecycle’ group (on yahoo groups), they are all over the world. You can advertise it as an offer and guage people’s replies to the add as to whether or not you want them to have the clothes. Then you organise to meet them somewhere, take it to them or they come to you to pick the stuff up. You can offer nearly anything on free-cycle. Its a great goup. I use it all the time!

IMPORTANT! Good Will doesn’t just ‘sell off’ their clothes as someone said, Good Will is a NON-PROFIT organization which helps unemployed and handicapped adults enter or re-enter the work force. ANYONE KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO FIND WORK BEING DISABLED??? Well I do, so please don’t take Good Will off of your donations list.

I hear people bitching about disabled individuals on social security. well guess what? GOOD WILL IS HELPING TO KEEP PEOPLE OFF SOCIAL SECURITY!!

Sorry, I just have a lot of faith in them. OH, and the woman who donates her clothes to Belarus…There are international laws prohibiting sending used clothes through the mail…how do you go about donating your clothes abroad??

Salvation Army will pass on unwanted baby items to mothers in need, there are also charities which supply baby items to asylum seekers in the UK. Google it and you should find some info.

If you have time, go into a not so pretty neighborhood, find a church nearby and drop it off. They will gladly take it. I have done this and they are really thankful.

How about the childrens ward at your local hospital or a childrens home?

I am a member of freecycle and you can basically sign up for your area and then people who can directly use these clothes will email you.

Try asking your local hospitals if there are any parents that are in great need (including teen parents). If not, ask a local homeless shelter if they have any babies. If they don’t (which will be hard to believe) check the nearby foster homes. Again if they don’t have any need for the clothes there, check with churches. They always have a list of people who are in need. Most likely one of these places WILL have someone to be lucky enough to receive your daughters clothes. Thank you for putting so much time into this project. You are a wonderful person!
