What were your feelings when you saw your baby for the first time?
Query by Miss Behavin: What have been your feelings when you saw your infant for the initially time?
I am due in beneath two weeks’ time, and whilst I am hoping that I will feel a surge of enjoy instantly (I currently feel it, but I am scared about what will occur when it all becomes reality) I know that it doesn’t occur quickly for every person. I am truly scared that I will feel freaked out or disassociated from this small particular person. What did you feel the second your child was handed to you? Do you have any suggestions?

It’s so hard to describe since it’s extremely emotional. But it’s feels so magnificent to hold this tiny 1 who’s been in your tummy kicking & moving all around. To have them look back at you is entirely priceless & know this child is yours. It tends to make all really worth it.

I was so happy to see the little baby that was growing in my tummy for so long. A feeling will come over you that you just cant explain. But you will feel a rush of love. Reality will hit you after you”ve got home with the baby and have gottin settled. But try not to get overwhelmed. you have to keep your cool and recover from having the baby. i hope you have lots of loving support. Good luck

My first son was born after a very long labour and I felt the overwhelming surge of love and pride everyone talks about. With my younger son, it all happened quite quickly and I didn’t bond with him so instantly, and it was quite a while afterwards, due to the post-natal depression, that I felt really close to him. My advice is take it as it comes, and if you don’t bond instantly, although you probably will, don’t think it is your ‘fault’ – don’t forget your hormones are all over the place, you will feel really tired out and it can seem a little bit surreal – but when things settle down, the feelings will come to the surface. The main thing is to treasure the time while they are so small, it won’t seem like it at the time, but it really does fly by – my eldest has just left school, is 6ft+, and waiting to learn to drive, and my baby is coming up for 9! I look at them and wonder where the time went! Good luck and congratulations!

It’s amazing, you just want to hold them the moment they come out.
