My husband and I started buying things like diapers, wipes, etc, stuff we knew we would need as soon as we found out I was pregnant. It really came in handy doing this so early. We didn’t have to stress about our money and getting everything ready all at once. I suggest doing this. Even if you get stuff at your baby shower, it wouldn’t matter. You can never have too much of those things.

I am due in February so I have a long time to go. But I am not a totally superstious person but I will not start buying or letting anyone buy for me until after my first trimester is over just because they say its bad luck and this may be my only shot to have a child. I do not believe waiting until september is too late it may be a little stressful on you trying to buy everything a month before you deliver but its never too late to buy baby stuff….well ok I guess after delivery is a bit late lol! But I am sure you will have someone else helping you with some of it….great things about baby showers but even then I think you are totally fine. Hope this helps or gives you another’s perspective.
Congratulations by the way

Buy whatever you need and save the reciepts in case you are gifted with it. There is so many things you need , and the reality of it all doesn’t hit you until its late. Look into lists need for a newborn. Yikes if I only would have started earlier.

I wouldn’t wait that long. They say to wait until you are passed 12weeks because the chance of miscarriage drops way down after 12weeks. It’s fun anyways to buy little things here and there. Having a new baby is very exciting. Don’t let yourself miss out on the fun parts of your pregnancy. I LOVED shopping for my babies when I was pregnant. Even a bottle here and a bottle there or a few onzies and things like that. Good Luck and Congratulations!!!!

I’m due November 21st, I’m planning on early-mid september, I’m guessing, simply because I’m at risk for premature birth. I’d like to have the shower within the first weekend of october.

Do you mean baby supplies as in furniture, travel system/pram/pushchair and a crib or little things such as nappies, Sudocrem etc?
I plan on buying small amounts of clothes and start looking to buy a moses basket, crib etc at 20 weeks after our anomaly scan. Hopefully we can find out the sex of the baby and if not at least we’ll know he/she is well so far so I can feel better about buying.
I picked things up with my daughter every week from 20 weeks. I’d buy nappies one week, clothes the next etc never spending a lot of money in one go. That way by 37-38 weeks I had everything sorted and packed in my hospital bag without a noticeable chunk of money missing.
