When would you start buying things for your baby and planning the nursery?
Question by L: When would you commence obtaining elements for your child and planning the nursery?
I am a lengthy extended long way off from even beginning to program all of that stuff but we are operating out our finances and I was questioning when absolutely everyone began to get issues for their baby. I have heard that as well quickly is thought to be bad luck and I know I would want to wait until anything is ok but I just needed to know when most individuals start?

From 3 months i would commence a child basket for eg: Shampoo, Nappies,
cream, etc. And from 5 months clothes and essentials, then at 7 months cot and pram xx

I started at twenty weeks and made sure everthing was bought and set-up by thirty-seven weeks.

I’m 29 weeks pregnant and i’ve only gotten clothes, baby monitor and a carrier so far. Although this is my 4th baby I don’t have anything from my older children as I didn’t expect to have any more after my youngest was born, 7 years ago.
I have some serious shopping to do!

that all depends up to you, personally i waited until the 20 week scan before i started buying stuff, then i slowly got the big things each month like the pushchair, carseat, cot. as for the nursery 50 days to go and still not been started! i would start buying things from about 12 weeks just little bits and when you see the offers x

This is my 4th pregnancy, and we find out the sex on Tuesday (hopefully!) and I will start buying things then. We have most things already.
However, when I was pregnant with my first son, I didn’t even think to start buying things early on. It wasn’t until I went into premature labor at 27 weeks and realised my poor baby had nothing that I started to panic! So going on past experience, I would suggest buying a few things here and there early on, until you have everything you need. That way, you are organized without the last minute rush.
Lots of luck!

Start when you feel like it. There is no right week to start. However, if you want a certain theme or name on the wall, it’s best to wait until you know the sex. However, you can start to purchase a few gender neutral things or a pack of newborn diapers and some wipes and diaper rash cream. I think once I was out of the first trimester I went out and bought an infant car seat and few (ok maybe more than a few) general neutral clothes, though I knew it was boy and was leaning towards more boy clothes. Once I knew the sex, I went crazy and started designing the nursery.
By 32 weeks everything was done, nursery, bassinet pack-n-play all set up, sheets washed, clothes washed and hung/in drawers, blankets washed and baby monitor all set up. I am so glad I need because towards the end of week 32 beginning of 33 I went into preterm labor and put on bed rest. So I am ready a bit early but glad, because right now I can’t do the things I mentioned above.
Once you are out of the first trimester, I say start slow but go for it. It’s so much fun.
